Matsutani Korea Ltd. is Korea branch of Matsutani Chemical industry Co. Ltd. Since established in 2000, Matsutani Korea has provided advanced functional food materials : dietary fiber, modified starches, and starch derivatives etc., and has researched and developed new materials and technology oriented towards healthy dietary life. In 2013 Korea Matsutani launched a dessert business aimed at general customers and coffee shops, and especially in this year plans to introduce new concept of premium dessert applying ‘Rare Sugar Syrup(RSS)’. RSS is a glucose syrup containing rare sugars (D-Allulose) which are monosaccharides existing in small quantities in nature and rare sugars have a special physiology function which is to reduce body fat without giving up sweetness. The taste of RSS is very similar to sugar. For these reasons, RSS is a big issue in Japan already and is expected to play an active part in not only dessert but also beverage and bakery.
